2008 Elections

According to our Constitution the offices of President, Secretary, Vice-President of Licensed Personnel, and Vice-President of Secretarial/Clerical are up for election this year.  For more information about these offices, please read the By-Laws.  If you are interested in running for one of these offices, or would like to nominate someone, please make a copy of the nomination form found on this website, and follow the instructions printed on the bottom of the page.  Please note that you will need signatures of 5 RRSEU members in good standing on this nomination form before you mail it.

Proposed Boundary Changes For RRPS

  1. Proposed boundary changes for RRPS. Check the RRDO website for the latest updates!
  1. Proposed schedule change for RRHS. Administration is proposing that RRHS eliminate the 4x4 block schedule in favor of either a 6 or 8 period day. There are significant issues that must be addressed, including negotiating the impact of such a decision.  The Union Management Committee has been formed to identify specific issues and to determine possible remedies. It is my intention that the results of UMC effort be forwarded to both sides for negotiations in March.
  1. RRDO has agreed to modify the paperwork requirements for Level III teachers for SY 08-09. Basically the Level III addendum goes away and the PDP will be modified to allow for Level III information to be added. This was worked out between RRSEU and RRPS to lessen the load on teachers.
  1. We have discovered that a few employees who are under the umbrella of the RRSEU are not aware that they are represented. Specifically, a handful of elementary secretaries (non-confidential employees) and nurses recently expressed concerns that they had no representation. The Executive Council is working to meet with those groups and to ensure that their voices are heard.
  1. Negotiations start in early March, so for those of you with issues… LET US KNOW ASAP! Our email addresses are listed on the webpage so feel free to get the word to us. By the way, issues are not a reason to complain… if you have a complaint please send us the issue and what remedy you think would be appropriate.
